I think I want to try meditation. I’ve heard over and over again on the Tim Ferriss show that the best performers across many fields have some sort of meditative practice. I think that my version of meditation will be to play the same drum groove over and over to a metronome for 10 minutes. This will pull my focus away from anything else but repeating the same task over and over again and will help drown out any other thoughts. I did this today and I liked it. Plus, it had the added benefit of conditioning my body to playing to a more steady pulse.
